How do I organise to see the centre?
Centre tours are available Monday – Thursday both morning and afternoon. Please call, email or complete a Book a Tour request from the front page of our website to arrange a time that is convenient to you.
What do I do if I want to change my child’s days of care?
If you wish to change, increase or decrease your child’s days contact the centre admin office. Parents are required to provide 4 weeks written notice to decrease days. Any other changes can be made by emailing email@example.com. We always do our best to accommodate your childcare needs.
Is there a minimum number of days I must enrol?
We highly recommend a minimum of 2 days of attendance to enable your child to reach their potential and maximise the social and developmental benefits our educational program offer. We will however offer a one day enrolment if this suits your needs, based on availability.
When are my fees payable?
Fees are billed fortnightly and must be paid for every day your child is enrolled including public holidays, if your child is sick or when you are on holidays.
Do we offer make up days?
We do not offer make up days for public holidays, if your child is sick or you are away on holidays.
Who do I speak to if I have questions about my child?
We encourage strong communication between class educators and therefore like to provide daily feedback when possible about your child’s day at pick up or through Kinderm8, our online communication tool. In addition the educators will contact you to provide information with regard to your child’s development and interests ensuring we are catering for any personal goals or concerns you may have for your child. We encourage parents to organise a meeting with class educators and centre management if there are any other topics you wish to discuss about your child at any time. This can be organised verbally or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
What is the difference between a preschool and a long day care centre?
The primary difference between a preschool and long day care centre is the hours of operation. Long day care centres operate long hours (eg, 7.30-6pm) whereas a preschool typically operates 9-3pm. The national Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) ensures that both organisations follow the same educational program however operating under a long day care scheme allows families to claim government rebates.
How will I know if my child slept or ate during the day?
Our three younger aged classrooms record your child’s sleep and meals for the day in a software system called Kinderm8 available for your viewing at your leisure from your smart phone, tablet or PC, or directly from educators and pick up. Preschool educators mark sleep on the classroom sign in sheet.
What are your daily fees?
Fees vary by age group; 0-2, 2-3 and 3-5, and based on booking times; 8-4.30, 7.30-5.30 or 7.30-6pm. Our admin team will be able to let you know what fees to expect based on your particular needs. Your our of pocket costs will depend on the level of childcare subsidy from the government. To understand the government subsidy head to this government website;
Do you close on Jewish holidays?
Yes we close on Jewish holidays, but provide a calendar of closure dates for the following year to allow you to plan around it, and facilitate booking casual days to help you catch up on your work if needed.
